Bee Keeping & Honey Festival

The bee keeping and honey festival is a yearly event that is held by the “J” Beekeeping School, in Diggers Rest.

Sunday 6th March, 10am to 4pm, 35 Duncans Lane, Diggers Rest
Cost $3 per adult, children free

The festival includes demonstrations on how to extract honey and build bee keeping equipment. They include a kids corner to teach children (& adults) all about bees, there is a glass bee hive , so that you can watch the bees working away safely and for those that are really interested there will be a hive opening between 12 noon and 1pm and depending on the weather they may also be able to have a person perform a bee beard (which is a sight to see).

There will be various documentaries playing during the day and a selection of bee items for sale including honey, beeswax candles, honey mead & liqueurs and a variety of other bee items.

Program Overview.

Honey extraction 10:30 to 11:30 & 3:15 to 3:45
Hive Opening 12 noon to 1:00pm
Kids Corner 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Bee Beard 2:30pm to 3:15pm
BBQ lunch available, live band and raffle drawn every hour
